Kairos Community Trust reports on the work of the Aisling project

For one Kairos man, this was his first trip home in sobriety. “It was a momentous visit for him,” says John Glynn, the Aisling outreach worker who led the trip. “It had been many years since he had visited Ireland sober. We enabled him to travel by train to see his mum in the north-west and kept in touch daily.”

Peter Doyle, long time Aisling client and volunteer is pictured here wearing the famous showbiz jacket worn by Fr. Dick Byrne in the Song for Europe episode of Fr. Ted.
The jacket was successfully bidded for on Ebay by a Ted fan from Cork and the sum made up to £1,000 by Jimmy Mulville co-founder of Hatrick Productions the far-sighted company who made the ever watchable Fr. Ted series. Many thanks to Jimmy and Sile at Hatrick and to the anonymous bidder from Cork who made this novel fundraising idea a success for Aisling.
